Shots fired on Rumble

Shots fired on Rumble
Published March 19, 2003

Residents of a south Burnaby neighbourhood are on alert this week after shots were fired at a home in the 4400 block of Rumble Street on Saturday night.
RCMP Const. Phil Reid confirmed that at least four shots were fired before several vehicles sped off from the scene.
While nobody was hurt in the incident, other details are sketchy.
"What you have to worry about with any crime is the collateral damage," Reid said Tuesday morning. "That's what we've noticed with the majority of killings in Burnaby over the past year. Sure, most of them are targeted at certain individuals, but it's amazing that nobody else has been hurt.
"In this case, if the neighbours are suspecting this may be a problem area or a home that's causing trouble, then they should report any suspicious activities to the police.
"For instance, it is important that neighbours get license numbers of suspicious vehicles passing by. You'd be surprised how we can solve things that can turn into a murder."
