A pedestrian was taken to hospital with head injuries after she was struck by a car while crossing Griffiths Drive near 18th Avenue.
The accident took place about 7:20 a.m. Monday as the 42-year- old New Westminster resident tried to cross near a marked crosswalk, but not in it.
She was struck by what police describe as a "small car" driven by a woman who was alone in the vehicle.
Police say a bus struck and killed a pedestrian at the same location about two years ago.
The victim of Monday's accident was still in critical condition at Royal Columbian Hospital on Tuesday.
