Canada Post has confirmed it is investigating allegations that a letter carrier in Burnaby solicited a prostitute while he was supposed to be on duty.
"We are, in fact, investigating," said Bob Taylor, manager of corporate communications for the Pacific region of Canada Post.
"Tomorrow (Tuesday) we'll be meeting with the union to see if there was any untoward conduct.
"I don't think it's a criminal matter," he said. "It allegedly happened while the employee was on duty, and to that extent it is an internal matter."
The incident apparently occurred last Friday morning near the City of Burnaby works yard, off Godwin and Sprott Street. The suspect was described as about five-foot-six with blonde hair, wearing knee-high red boots and a red or burgundy jacket.
