The Burnaby girls' Rage battled cold weather and a couple of hot teams from Coquitlam to pick up two victories in the past week.
The club was battered and bruised but still managed to come out on top when they bested the Coquitlam Kixx by a 1-0 score on Nov. 1.
Kirsten Saul scored the lone goal when she finished off a well- placed cross from Shannon Brown. Anne Gibbons recorded her sixth shutout of the season.
Brown was the star of the show when the Rage downed the u-16 gold Poco Thunderbirds by a 5-1 margin just two days later.
After Poco scored first, Brown found the ball in the midst of a goal mouth scramble and she evened the score. She came out fighting early in the second half to give the Rage the go-ahead marker.
Brown was also instrumental in the team's third marker of the game. When she was fouled inside the 18-yard box, the Rage were awarded a penalty kick, which was knocked into the net by Kirsten Saul.
Shannon Douglas added two insurance goals for the red-and-white- clad Rage, and sweeper Marianne Siglos was named the outstanding player of the game for her play at both ends.
The club visits the Richmond Reign this weekend before taking part in the annual Burnaby Girls' Soccer Club seven-a-side tournament at the Burnaby Lake fields.
